The second day of EuroBasket 2013 competition came to a close with some more surprises and unexpected results. This championship proves to be an intriguing one. We have some dark horses, some underrated teams that win and favorites losing to underdogs. Nothing is decided yet – teams only played a couple of matches and just warming up before the big thing.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – The Sensation
Team Slovenia scored only 25 points in the first half against Spain, but then it was Goran Dragic who had a genius match (18 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals). The home team hosted a truly sensational win and made their fans go crazy. The spanish press recalled that coach Juan Orenga is not that experienced for this level, but it is really too early to make any conclusions. 4 years ago, Furia Roja lost the opening match to Serbia, 2 years ago same happened in a match with Turkey. You remember how both campaigns ended for the Spanish, right? This time Slovenia really wanted to win more.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – Winning Shots
This is where it is better to see once than to hear a 100 times. There were two winning shots. Enjoy.
Kristaps Janicenoks hits a game winning buzzer beater vs Montenegro.
Lubos Barton hits Poland.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – The Dunk
Vesely in a game of Czech Republic vs Poland.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – The Dime
Rudy Fernandes casted his magic against Slovenia. Even though it did not help his team to win.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – The Hero
Marco Bellinelli reminds us of a young Manu Ginobili. Italy won again and won against a surprisingly unprepared Turkey. Marco was everywhere – scoring, passing. Italy is probably even stronger now than most specialists could think. Tanjevic admitted that Team Turkey does have a problem, but it will probably won’t be solved before the end of this tournament.
EuroBasket 2013 Day 2 – Fan of the Day
Some really funny guy from Lithuania this time. Agree?
